Visa
A valid passport with Entry Visa is required of all visitors. Visa is
without difficulty obtainable from the consulate or as well as from the
embassy in my country. You can as a rule make a formal request for your
visa to Myanmar Embassy. We can usually categorize two (2) classes of
entry visa:
(i) Entry visa for tourist (package)-EVT(PACK) and
(ii) Entry visa for tourist (Foreign independence traveler)-EVT (FIT)
A tourist visa allows a stay of 28 days, extendible for an additional 14
days.
A business visa allows a stay of 28 days, extendible up to 12 months on
a case-by-case basis.
Visa on arrival is granted to both FIT and Package Tourists with the
assistance of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
E visa
Now you are able to apply for a visa with the use of online from
www.visa.gov.mm . The visa has
clarification for tourists and travellers for business purposes with the
instructions of seven languages. You will have to fill in the
application form. The processing time takes less than 24 hours. The fee
of e-visa is US$ 20 per tourist and US$ 36 for the business travellers
plus US$ 10 (processing charge) per application each for visa charge.
Via on-line payment into a credit card the visa fees can be paid. Send
back approved and accepted visa applications with the aid of e-mail.
Approval letter will have to be printed out and shown to the immigration
check-in counter in time of your arrival in Myanmar.
On arrival visa: Now you can also obtain Myanmar visa upon arrival at
Yangon airport with a visa pre-approved letter.
Getting to Myanmar
By Air - Yangon has already arranged direct air links with Bangkok,
Bhutan, Brunei, Calcutta, Chaing Mai, Delhi, Dhaka, Hong Kong,
Kualalampur, Kumming, Paro, Singapore, Taipei, and Vienna.
Myanmar Airways International (MAI), Thai Airways International (TG),
Silk Air, Biman (BG), PIA, India Airlines, Royal Brunei, Air China, All
Nippon Airways (ANA) and Bhutan Airlines operate regular flights to
Yangon. Air Mandalay operates Yangon - Chiangmai - Yangon flights.
By Sea - Cruise Ships call at Yangon Port with Visa on Arrival being
granted on prior arrangement.
By Overland. Land route entry with a Border Pass is permitted at the
following Border Check Points: Kyukoke, Namkham, Muse on the Myanmar-Yunnan
(china) border; and Tachileik (Golden Triangle), Myawaddy and Kawthaung
(Southern Myanmar) on the Myanmar-Thai border.
Passport
A valid passport with Entry visa is required for all tourists &
businessmen, applicable at Myanmar Embassies and Consulate General
Offices abroad.
Vaccination
Most travellers will need vaccinations for hepatitis A, typhoid fever,
and polio, as well as medications for malaria prophylaxis and travelers'
diarrhea. Other immunizations may be necessary depending upon the
circumstances of the trip and the medical history of the traveler.
Insect repellents are recommended, in conjunction with other measures to
prevent mosquito bites. All travelers should visit their personal
physician 4-8 weeks before your trip. The sun can be remarkably hot and
a hat and high-factor block cream is advisable.
Currency
Myanmar currency is known as "Kyat" which comprises 100 pyas.
Notes: Kyats 1000, Kyats 500, Kyats 200, Kyats 100, Kyats 90, Kyats 50,
Kyats 45, Kyats 20, Kyats 15, Kyats 10, Kyats 5, Kyat 1.
Coins: Kyats 100, Kyats 50, Kyats 10, Kyats 5, Kyat 1, Pya 50, Pya 25,
Pya 10, Pya 5, Pya 1.
Visitors can change their dollars into FEC (Foreign Exchange Certificate
which is equal to US Dollars), and then can change their FEC legally
into Kyat at the real market rate at licensed money changer shops.
Travellers checks are NOT normally accepted and are difficult to
transact. Travellers are advised to bring US Dollars in cash (small
denomination notes). British Pounds, French Frances, German Deutsh Marks
and other currencies are difficult to change. Bring US Dollars cash.

What to wear? What to bring?
Light cotton-wears and casual clothing are recommended all year round. A
light sweater or jacket will be useful when travelling in hilly areas.
- During the rainy season, raincoat or umbrella will have to be taken
with.
- In religious ground area not allowed to have, foot wearing, such as
sandals, slippers, shoes, including even socks or stockings.
- Need to wear decent dress in time of visiting Temples and Pagodas.
- Insects repellent, sun block, sunglasses, hats, personal medical kits
and other items, which you want and need, will have to be taken with.
Arrival Procedure
On your arrival, made your passport check at the immigration counter
with arrival form and then pick up your luggage. Afterwards, make
yourself step up to the custom counter. Our guide will meet you at
arrival lounge.
Customs
Foreign currencies in excess of US$ 2,000, Jewellery, camera, video
camera and electronic goods should be declared at the customs' counter
at the airport on arrival. Mobile phones will not be allowed to take
with you on your trip. You declare it and leave it at custom and they
kept until your departure check in.
Airport Tax
The international airport departure tax is US$ 10 per person. No tax for
all domestic flights.
