Yangon-Bago-Golden Rock-Yangon

Day 01 Arrival Yangon

Independence MonumentWelcome at the airport. Transfer and check in at the hotel. Visit the National Museum-04 storey building which displays all about Myanmar, mainly the Lion Throne of the last king of Myanmar, who exiled to India in 1886, the Botahtaung Pagoda-the combination of stupa & temple, the colonial area, the Sule Pagoda-the landmark of Yangon city Centre, which has been enshrined the hair relic of Buddha, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image-70 meters long and huge colossal image. Finally, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda-one of the wonders of the world where we can observe the ways of life of Buddhists such as offering the water, candles, flowers, etc. Overnight in Yangon

Day 02 Drive to Bago and sightseeing. Then drive to Golden Rock and excursion.

Kyaikpun PagodaAfter early breakfast, drive via Bago to Kin Pun base camp (110 km -3 1/2hours). Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to Kyaikhtiyo the 'Golden Rock', a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From base camp to the next camp (11 km) by open trucks, which are very crowded. Travelers walk about 4 km to final stage. From final stage to the Golden Rock with up steep paths. Visitors can be carried in Sedan chair by four porters. These will extra charge approx. US$ 8.00 p.p. At arrival, enjoy the beauty of sunset and to see the pilgrimage site. Dinner at Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03 Drive back to Yangon and leisure.

Kyaikhtiyo PagodaAfter Breakfast, return to Bago (110 km-3 1/2 hours). Sightseeing includes the Shwemawdaw Pagoda with its spire taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda, the 55-meter long Reclining Buddha Image and small Mon village. Lunch at local restaurant.

After lunch, return to Yangon (84 Km- 1½ hours) and on the way visit the four giant Buddha images Kyaik Pun Pagoda. Visit an Allied War Graves Cemetery near Htauk Kyant and 'Nat' tree shrine on the way back.
Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.

Day 04 Departure

Kyaikhtiyo PagodaAfter breakfast, enjoy shopping at Bogyoke Market with hundreds of food, handicrafts and gems shops. Leisure until departure. Transfer to the airport.
